Today, Rep. Grace F. Napolitano (D-El Monte) released the following statement on President Joe Biden's historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the next Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court:
"I commend President Biden on his historic, inspirational nomination. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is a brilliant jurist with unassailable character, who has devoted the majority of her career to serving the public--as a U.S. Sentencing Commission lawyer and commissioner; as a federal public defender; and as a federal judge. Having been confirmed by the Senate on a bipartisan basis three times, we look forward to her swift confirmation as our nation's first Black woman on the Supreme Court."
