Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC), Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA), and over 80 of their colleagues sent a letter to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) demanding accountability after reports that 47,705 illegal aliens failed to check-in with authorities after they were conditionally released from ICE custody between March and August of 2021.

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"The policy of catch and release failed under the Obama administration and it is failing under the Biden administration. It is a policy that incentivizes more illegal immigration and puts our country at increased risk of crime and illegal drugs. This administration needs to be held accountable for its failure to control the crisis on the southern border, and I'm proud to stand with Rep. Cline and more than 80 of my colleagues to demand action."
