Kaptur Statement on Strong U.S. Employment Figures

Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement on the December Jobs Report released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showing the national unemployment falling to 3.9 percent last month.

"With 6.4 million jobs added across the country in 2021, it is clear the U.S. economy is rebounding," said Rep. Kaptur. "Unemployment dropped by nearly 40 percent last year, wages are rising, and people are going back to work. Thanks to the Jobs and Infrastructure bill Democrats just passed, this progress will only continue as we help create more good-paying jobs in every sector and rebuild our infrastructure for the future. I will continue leading this fight in Congress to support hardworking families and strengthen our communities."
