Statement

Representative Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after leading global semiconductor manufacturer Intel Corporation selected a site in Ohio as the future home for its most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the world:

Governor DeWine and his team, including Jobs Ohio, deserve a ton of credit for getting this project -- the largest single private sector company investment in Ohio's history - to the finish line. It's going to have a positive, profound impact on the entire state for decades to come.

This is great news for Ohioans and an important reminder of our state's legacy as an innovation and manufacturing leader. To keep the momentum going, the US House must bring up and pass legislation to fund the CHIPS for America Act (the Senate has already done so). The more manufacturing, research, development, and supply chain security at home, the better off we'll all be. And along those lines, I'm hopeful this momentum will also propel another critically important game-changing project in our state across the finish line…PTT's proposed ethane cracker plant in Belmont County.
