Yesterday, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) received notice that he earned an A+ rating on the Susan B. Anthony List's National Pro-Life Scorecard. This new score takes into account votes and actions for every member of Congress for the first session of the 117th Congress. Included in this year's score card is co-sponsorship of Latta's legislation, the Support and Value Expectant (SAVE) Moms and Babies Act.

"The right to life is the ultimate right because without it, there would be no basis for all other rights," said Latta. "I am proud to have earned an A+ on the Susan B. Anthony List's Pro-Life Scorecard for my work to protect and defend the lives of the unborn as well as the safety and wellbeing of mothers and babies. I will continue my work in Congress to protect the lives of the innocent children and to be a champion for life in the 117th Congress and beyond."

During the 117th Congress, Latta has supported numerous pro-life policies and introduced multiple pieces of pro-life focused legislation including the SAVE Moms and Babies Act. This bill would prohibit the FDA from approving new abortion drugs or allowing these dangerous drugs to be made available by mail or telemedicine. Latta also introduced the Protecting the Dignity of Unborn Children Act, which would establish a new criminal offense for disposing of fetal remains in a landfill or in any navigable waters of the United States.

Additionally, Latta also co-led a bicameral letter opposing the FDA's decision to allow physicians to prescribe chemical abortion drugs during the pandemic via telemedicine visits. Latta offered a unanimous consent request for consideration of H.R. 18, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, which would make the historically bipartisan Hyde Amendment permanent to ensure that tax payer dollars do not pay for abortion procedures.
