Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04), a member of the House Armed Services Committee and 30-year Army veteran, released the following statement on the immediate threat posed by a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine:

"An invasion of Ukraine by Russia would be an intolerable violation of international law, a disregard for the sovereignty of the Ukrainian people, and threaten the security of our NATO allies. Our commitment to NATO and the security of Europe is ironclad. President Biden will not hesitate to uphold that commitment and ensure Americans and our allies are protected and secure. We cannot and will not allow this kind of aggression to challenge the foundational basis for free and democratic societies. An attack on Ukraine would only further isolate Vladimir Putin's corrupt regime."
