Congressman Keller Statement on National Debt Reaching $30 Trillion

Date: Feb. 3, 2022
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) made the following statement upon the national debt surpassing $30 trillion.

"As of this week, our national debt now exceeds $30 trillion. In the midst of widespread supply chain disruptions, a nationwide labor shortage, and the highest levels of inflation seen in 40 years, Congress should be squarely focused on finding long-term solutions to the economic problems we face. Unfortunately, Washington Democrats are instead plowing ahead with more wasteful, big government spending that will send America even farther along an unsustainable path--one that, if left unchecked, will saddle future generations with insurmountable debt and deprive them of the opportunity to pursue their American dreams. Washington must stop making promises our kids and grandkids can't afford to keep."
