Rep. Wild Statement on Attack at Beth Israel in Colleyville, TX

Statement

"My heart breaks for the congregation at Beth Israel and I am grateful that the terrifying situation ended with all of the hostages out of harm's way.

"This attack did not occur in a vacuum, and tragically it is not unique. As it has for millennia, anti-Semitism continues to terrorize the Jewish community in the United States and around the world, and increasingly violent rhetoric against the Jewish people has emboldened attackers such as the one in Colleyville. Terrorism and religious bigotry have no place in modern society, and I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community today and every day in calling out and fighting this anti-Semitic hate.

"Thank you to the law enforcement at all levels who worked together to secure a safe outcome, and thank you to the brave individuals who work to provide training and security at churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples."
