Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) voted to pass the Build Back Better Act, a generational package to help working families and the middle class

In the wake of the pandemic, skyrocketing costs of child care, health care, home- and community-based care, early and higher education, housing and more, are hurting working families across Illinois and around the nation. The Build Back Better Act delivers transformational investments that will address these needs.

"The Build Back Better Act is more than a bill -- it is an investment in American families. This legacy legislation will create millions of jobs for working- and middle-class Americans while building a foundation for families to be successful. The package prioritizes child and elder care, education, families, workforce development, affordable housing and so much more -- and our nation will enjoy the dividends for years to come," said Congresswoman Bustos.

"The middle class has long been the backbone of our country and communities and it's time for us to build an economy that works for them. Today, we took the next step in delivering on that promise by passing the Build Back Better Act."
