The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development today awarded a total of $2,208,500 in grants and loans for projects and public services in Southwest Virginia. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

"Rural communities often face difficulties in reliably funding or upgrading the public services they provide. Today's award of $2,208,500 in funding from USDA Rural Development is a significant investment in Southwest Virginia and will improve the quality of life for residents."
