CARTER STATEMENT ON H.R. 6119, FY22 CONTINUING RESOLUTION

Statement

Date: Dec. 2, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Representative John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after voting against H.R.6119, the Fiscal Year 2022 Continuing Resolution.

"Once again, Democrats have refused to work alongside Republicans to produce a continuing resolution beneficial to our country that both sides can agree on. Instead of working to solve the border, jobs, or economic crisis, Democrats have prioritized ramming through their socialist tax & spend bills and two months into the fiscal year, we are being forced to prevent a government shutdown.

"As a member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I know how important it is to continue funding our military, however this is not the way to do it. I voted against this bill because a continuing resolution is not only irresponsible, but it does not actually solve any of the multiple challenges facing our country today."
