Sinema Discusses Construction Needs at Arizona VA Facilities

Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema spoke to the VA Secretary during a Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee hearing and advocated for improved VA facilities in Arizona.

"The Arizona VA medical centers serve a large and growing population and they have a number of construction needs to better serve the community… I look forward to working with you and the Committee to move these projects forward so Arizona veterans can continue to receive the care they have earned," said Sinema, a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.

During the hearing, Sinema highlighted the major construction needs of Arizona's VA facilities and her intention to work with the VA Secretary and the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee to move these projects forward. Earlier this month, Sinema spoke on the phone with the VA Secretary following up on his visit to the Phoenix VA Medical Center and expressed support for the new bed tower in the Phoenix and Tucson facilities.

Sinema also thanked the VA, American Legion, and Philips North America for their partnership in securing a Project ATLAS telehealth site in Wickenburg, Arizona, and emphasized the importance of community partnerships to ensure the success of the site. Project ATLAS allows Arizona veterans to receive timely care and access telehealth services close to home, regardless of where they live -- a resource Arizona veterans living in rural areas and lacking connectivity can benefit.
