Rep. Mann Votes Against the Biden Administration's Spending Bill

Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (R-KS) voted against the Biden Administration's reckless spending bill.

"This morning, I voted against President Biden and House Democrats' appalling reconciliation bill. Supporters of the reckless spending bill tout that it will change the United States of America, and they're right. If passed in the U.S. Senate, it would allow the federal government to further encroach on our daily lives, fund abortions by excluding the long-time bipartisan Hyde Amendment, expand the already $30 trillion national debt, further drive-up inflation, tax working Americans, and do nothing to protect America from our biggest adversaries.

Over the past several months, my Republican colleagues and I worked tirelessly to amend the bill to drive down its cost and include provisions that would responsibly protect working Americans from excess taxes, reserve funds for crop insurance for the farmers and ranchers who feed, fuel, and clothe all of us, and maintain the Hyde Amendment. But, once again, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats placed their partisan wish list ahead of the American people.

This reconciliation bill is a threat to the fundamental values that make America the beacon of freedom. I will not stop fighting to protect the freedoms of the American people, and I implore my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to do the same and oppose the radical, un-American spending spree."

The reconciliation package passed the House of Representatives with a 220 to 213 vote down party lines, with one Democrat joining Republicans in opposition. It will now be sent to the Senate for consideration.
