Stefanik Pushes for a House Vote to Nullify Vaccine Mandate

Statement

Date: Dec. 15, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik joined her colleagues in requesting Speaker Nancy Pelosi bring to the House for a vote a resolution to nullify President Biden's vaccine mandate for private businesses.

"The Biden Administration's vaccine mandate would impose government control into the private lives of millions of American citizens," Stefanik said. "This mandate would harm many of our nation's workers, employers, and small businesses, and the American people deserve to have their representatives on the record regarding this vaccine mandate. It's time for Nancy Pelosi to bring it to a vote."

In November, Stefanik joined her colleagues in introducing an Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to nullify Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) "emergency" rule requiring private companies to enforce a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

The Senate voted last week in favor of an identical Senate resolution (S.J. Res. 29) by a vote of 52-48.
