U.S. Representative Charlie Crist (D-St. Petersburg) released the following statement after the results of Tuesday night's elections.

"Last night's results in Virginia and New Jersey were deeply concerning," said Rep. Crist. "It's clear we have a lot of work to do to reconnect with independents and suburban voters, to make clear what we stand for, and just as importantly, what we do not. In Congress, we need to be laser-focused on pocketbook issues that address the needs of working families, rising gas prices, supply chain problems, and to make clear that parents will always have a major say in their children's education.

"In the coming days we have an opportunity to enact transformational funding for our nation's roads, bridges, airports, and mass transit, and to ensure seniors get affordable prescription drugs, all our children have access to a Pre-K education, and we create hundreds of thousands of clean energy jobs. Let's redouble our efforts to move this critical legislation to the finish line."
