Today, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) issued the following statement after U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy (Vt.) announced that he will retire from the Senate at the end of his term:

"Senator Leahy has been a highly successful legislator who understands that to get things done in a democracy you almost always have to find people on the other side to work with."
