Pelosi, U.S. Congressional Delegation Conclude Visit to Glasgow for COP26

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a U.S. Congressional Delegation concluded a visit to Glasgow, Scotland for the United Nations Climate Change Conference ("COP26").

"Today, our Congressional delegation concluded a successful visit to the COP26 in Glasgow with a strong and galvanizing message: as President Biden has said, America is Back!" said Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"Throughout this monumental conference, our delegation shared with the world our progress in advancing our legislation to Build Back Better, which, with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, represents an historic $1 trillion investment in realigning our economy to be Greener and Cleaner," continued Speaker Pelosi. "In meetings including with international leaders, NGOs and other global partners, we discussed the importance of outside mobilization and partnerships with the private sector and non-profits to develop climate solutions that are scalable and long-lasting. A key focus of our meetings was the centrality of women to the climate crisis -- a crisis, which is a threat multiplier that amplifies existing inequities, particularly for women. Our delegation proudly and clearly stated its commitment to making gender equity a central component of climate action."

"Our delegation expresses appreciation to President Biden for his leadership at COP26 and for fighting the climate crisis. We were inspired by the determination of Special Envoy John Kerry and encouraged by the vision of EPA Administrator Michael Regan. When our delegation returns to Washington, we bring a re-energized spirit of ambition, boldness and urgency to the climate fight," said Speaker Pelosi.
