Sarbanes Votes to Boost Maryland's Infrastructure and Economy

Today, Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) issued the following statement after House passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (H.R. 3684), legislation to rebuild our nation's crumbling infrastructure and economy:

"Our infrastructure is in desperate need of repair and upgrades. With this vote, we are making a down payment on a more prosperous, equitable economy for all. This legislation will modernize our infrastructure, reduce emissions, bolster resiliency and preparedness, expand broadband access and create more good-paying jobs in Maryland and across the nation.

"I will continue to work with my colleagues to deliver federal resources that will transform our economy and create a future of opportunity for all Americans."
