Welcome Rep. Mike Carey to Congress

Press Release

Date: Nov. 4, 2021
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Elections

The newest Republican Member of Congress, Rep. Mike Carey (OH-15), was sworn into office at the U.S. Capitol today.

As an Officer in the Army National Guard, this is not Rep. Carey's first time taking an oath of office to serve his country. He is a former businessman who knows the difficulties that Ohioans are facing. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Rep. Carey ran for office to best represent his constituents on the issues that matter: creating a better business environment, lowering the cost of living for families, and protecting our freedoms.

After Rep. Carey was sworn-in, House Republican Leader McCarthy (CA-23) said:

"On November 3rd, voters sent a clear message to the Democrat establishment that they do not support the policies that Washington is pushing. Mike is a native of Ohio's 1st Congressional District and knows the struggles that families, workers, and businesses are going through in his district. With his extensive experience in the energy sector, I am confident that he will be a great addition to the House Republican Conference and look forward to working with him on the issues that impact Ohioans the most. He will be a strong voice for his constituents here in Congress."
