Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the October jobs statement:

"The strong October jobs report is clear evidence that Democrats' Build Back Better agenda is delivering real results For The People -- with more than 600,000 jobs on average created each month, workers' wages surging and unemployment plummeting. With this report's revisions to the previous two months, close to six million jobs have been created under the first nine months of President Biden and Congressional Democrats' leadership, and we have lowered unemployment at the fastest rates in U.S. history, meeting projections two years earlier than expected.

"The House will sustain this historic progress for the American people by passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill and historic Build Back Better Act -- which, together, will create an estimated 20 million jobs over the next decade. Build Back Better will be fully paid for and reduce the debt: by $36 billion over the first decade and more than $2 trillion in the second decade. This anti-inflationary legislation will grow the economy and make a transformative difference for families, including by creating good-paying jobs, delivering a major middle class tax cut and dramatically lowering costs for families. Our legislation will Build Back Better for Women: saving most families more than half their spending on child care, delivering free universal pre-K for all three- and four-year-olds, establishing Paid Family and Medical Leave, extending the Biden Child Tax Credit for 35 million families, slashing the cost of health care and prescription drugs and investing in workforce development -- helping get "parents earning, children learning' and returning women to the workforce.

"Democrats are delivering historic, transformative progress For The People, For The Children and for America's future."
