Costa Introduces Legislation to Recognize October 8th as National Hydrogen Fuel Cell Day

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Jim Costa (CA-16) released the following statement after the re-introduction of a resolution designating Oct. 8 as National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day. The resolution recognizes how this technology can transform our infrastructure and energy sector by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, demand for foreign oil and improving environmental quality.

"Hydrogen and fuel cell technology will help the U.S. cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2035," said Rep. Costa. "I am proud to introduce this bipartisan, bicameral resolution to raise awareness of this innovative technology and celebrate its potential for the future. Congress must focus on a multi-phase approach to combat the climate crisis. Investing in technologies like these will help us lead in the 21st century."

Congressman Costa has led this resolution for the past three years in the U.S. House of Representatives.
