Rep. Chuck Fleischmann Statement on Twentieth Anniversary of 9/11 Terror Attacks

Press Release

Date: Sept. 11, 2021
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Issues: Defense

"Twenty years ago today, our nation endured one of our darkest days in our history when 2,977 innocent men, women, and children were taken from us in the 9/11 terror attacks. The sights of that day will be forever in every Americans' memory, and we must always remember our solemn vow to "Never Forget' the innocent victims and heroes who responded instantly to danger.

"We honor and remember those lost at the World Trade Center and Pentagon, and the brave heroes of United Flight 93 who sacrificed themselves to save Americans on the ground and, most likely, the United States Capitol.

"It is also fitting that today we honor every service member who answered the call to serve following 9/11 and protected our nation and the world for twenty years. America will never forget the service and sacrifice of our military. Their service in defense of freedom following 9/11 was noble and brave.

"May God bless those we lost on September 11, 2001, their families, and the United States of America."
