(Rochester, N.Y.) -- Congressman Joe Morelle released the following statement in response to House passage of legislation to prevent a government shutdown:

"Last night, my colleagues and I passed legislation to keep the government open when Americans need it most. As we continue our recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, we cannot afford to derail our economic growth and risk the livelihoods of American families. I urge my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to swiftly join us so that we can continue to Build Back Better and advance our nation forward."
