Statement

Washington, D.C. -- Representative Stephanie Bice (OK-05) released the following statement:

"I am both saddened and angered by the attacks on the Kabul Airport in Afghanistan yesterday. The execution of President Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal that lacked proper strategy or planning, has resulted in a staggering loss of life, both of our American service members and innocent bystanders.

The United States should respond swiftly and with force directed at ISIS-K and others who executed yesterday's attack. In addition, Congress must launch an investigation into the decisions made by President Biden and his administration that led to such a disastrous outcome so that those responsible can be held accountable.

My prayers continue for our men and women in uniform, including those on the ground in Afghanistan and around the world who continue to serve bravely and selflessly in the face of such terrible circumstances. I am forever grateful to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country, and to their family and friends. God bless our troops and God bless America."
