Stefanik Announces Two Grants for Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe

Washington, D.C. -- Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today announced the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe will receive two Department of Health and Human Services grants totaling $620,606 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and the Administration for Native Americans.

"The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is an integral part of the North Country," Stefanik said. "I am proud to announce that these taxpayer dollars will be returned to our district to support the tribe's medical research and the preservation of Native languages."

A breakdown of the funding can be seen below:

$537,997 for Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry Research from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences
$82,609 for the Emergency Native Language Project from the Administration for Native Americans
