3 Missouri Paralympians Join Team USA in Tokyo

Washington, D.C. -- As the Summer Paralympics Opening Ceremonies begin in Tokyo, Missouri Congressman Billy Long made the following statement congratulating the three Missourians who will join TEAM USA.

"I am excited to see three Missourians joining TEAM USA in Tokyo for the Summer Paralympics," Congressman Long said. "Competing in the Paralympics is the honor of a lifetime for you and your families, who I know are filled with immense pride at your accomplishments and look forward to seeing you succeed on the world stage. I join all Missourians in wishing you all the best of luck in Tokyo."

The three Missouri athletes will compete in two sports. David Brown of Kansas City will participate in 100m and 200m Track and Field event, while Collen Young of St. Louis and Haven Shepherd of Carthage will both compete in a series of swimming events.
