Congressman Fred Keller slams Pelosi's socialist spending spree

Statement

Date: Sept. 10, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) participated in the House Education and Labor Committee's hearing to mark up sections of House Democrats' $3.5 trillion budget proposal.

After the hearing, Congressman Keller made the following statement:

"This massive tax-and-spend plan would be a disaster for working families, retired individuals, and the next generation of Americans who will be forced to foot the bill for Joe Biden and Speaker Pelosi's socialist wish-list. During today's hearing, I offered three good-faith amendments to expand nutritious options for families on food assistance, rein in harmful enforcement actions against businesses, and limit free community college to families earning less than $400,000 annually. Committee Democrats voted down all three measures, indicating they would rather fall in line behind the Speaker than address these issues in a thoughtful, deliberative way. With this budget, House Democrats are attempting to mortgage our children's future in order to ram through more wasteful, big-government spending."
