(LINCOLN, NE) -- Last night, in a timely, high-level meeting at Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (NE-01) met with United States Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall about progress on Offutt Air Force Base runway repair, work to upgrade nuclear command, control, and communications at USSTRATCOM, and the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA).

"Last night, I was pleased to welcome U.S. Secretary of the Air Force Kendall to Nebraska. We discussed the progress at Offutt Air Force Base to rebuild the runway and enhance its infrastructure system. We also discussed the new development capabilities of USSTRATCOM, the nerve center of America's nuclear security enterprise, and the continued work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), our lab that identifies soldiers' remains. We noted as well the welcoming community that Nebraska creates for military families," Fortenberry said.

"The Secretary affirmed the importance of Offutt and the role of USSTRATCOM in keeping our country safe from the challenges in the world today," Fortenberry added.
