Congressman Sires' Statement on the Death of Richard Trumka

Congressman Albio Sires (D-NJ) released the following statement in response to the death of AFL-CIO President, Richard Trumka:

"I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Richard Trumka this morning. As the President of AFL-CIO, Richard understood the needs of American workers and was a tireless advocate for workers' rights. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work together with Richard on labor issues. My thoughts today are with his family, and I extend them my condolences. I am hopeful that a future generation of labor advocates will step up to continue his fight."
