Location: Long Branch, NJ

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that 82 nonprofit faith organizations in New Jersey will receive $11,686,957 for security enhancements. The funding is provided through the Department of Homeland Security's Nonprofit Security Grant Program that supports physical security enhancements and coordination activities for nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist attack. Nonprofits in New Jersey's 6th Congressional District will receive $1,050,000.

"These grants will help houses of worship throughout the state protect their members and will give our local communities the resources they need for security coordination," Congressman Pallone said. "The United States was founded on the principals of freedom and equality for all, which is why we must protect our constituents from religious violence and other acts of terrorism whether they are at home, work, or in their community."
