Rep. Dina Titus Announces $1.3 Million Head Start Grant to Sunrise Children's Foundation

Press Release

Washington, D.C. - Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award the Sunrise Children's Foundation $1,326,181 for the Early Head Start program.

Sunrise Children's Foundation's Early Head Start program offers child development services to vulnerable, low-income, and underserved populations. The HHS funds from the Administration for Children and Families will help serve 270 infants and toddlers from at-risk communities in Southern Nevada.

"Early childhood education is critical to a child's development. I've pushed for investments in Head Start programs because they prepare Nevada children for success, provide more families access to early child care, and help parents go to work knowing their kids are safe," said Congresswoman Dina Titus. "Sunrise Children Foundation caters to underserved children in Southern Nevada and these resources will allow SCH to continue their efforts to improve education for children at their earliest age, when major learning strides take place. The earlier you start, the longer you stay, the better you do, and the more successful you are in the long run. I am proud to support this essential funding for my district and will continue fighting to make early childhood education a priority in Washington."
