Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Joe Neguse announced that his request for federal funding to build a Search and Rescue Training Center and Vehicle Storage Facility in Frisco has been included in the House appropriations bill. The current facility in Frisco is a dilapidated structure that lacks adequate heat, space for vehicles and equipment and offers no appropriate training space. This funding would build a facility that can provide necessary and appropriate training and storage space to both the Sheriff's special operations group and the non-profit volunteer Summit County Rescue Group.

In total, Congressman Neguse secured over $6.5 million in funding for community projects in his district to be included in the end of year spending bills.

"I'm pleased to see federal funding for Frisco's search and rescue training center included in the House Appropriations bill," said Congressman Joe Neguse. "These funds will provide needed infrastructure improvements for the Vehicle Storage Facility, supporting Summit County's search and rescue program and our mountain communities."

"Summit County is thrilled that the Search and Rescue facility project has received strong support from Representative Neguse throughout the application and review process and that the House Appropriations Committee recognizes the value this project will bring to the Summit County community, " said Scott Vargo, Summit County Manager.

Neguse submitted several Community Project Funding requests to the Appropriations Committee, and has had remarkable success advocating for projects in Colorado's 2nd District. The Frisco Search and Rescue Training Center and Vehicle Storage Facility is among the 10 Neguse-sponsored projects to be included in the House Appropriations bill.
