U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement after the Biden Administration announced it has reached an agreement to allow completion of Nord Stream 2.

"When it comes to Russia, Biden's strategy seems to be "speak loudly and carry a small stick.' We're gift wrapping Putin's pet project for the same guy who hasn't done anything to stop cybercriminals and ransomware attacks against the U.S. -- even after the Administration warned them. President Biden needs to back up his tough talk with real actions that protect America -- and our network of allies in Europe -- but this isn't it."

In May, Sasse called on the Biden Administration to rethink the rollback of sanctions on the company in charge of Nord Stream 2.
