Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) announced that the Town of Naches will be receiving $4,357,000 through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Waste and Water Disposal Loan and Grant Program to revitalize its Wastewater Treatment Plant. Funding for this program was provided under the Trump Administration through H.R. 133, the FY2021 Omnibus and COVID Relief and Response Act.

"This funding is a substantial federal investment that will allow Naches to implement important safety measures and continue to support the community," said Rep. Newhouse. "I am grateful to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for prioritizing our rural communities helping us increase access to our most precious resource -- clean water."

This Rural Development investment will be used to eliminate identified deficiencies and implement recommended improvements by the State Regulatory Agency for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting of the Town of Naches' Wastewater treatment plant. These improvements will provide more efficient operations, reduce maintenance costs and enhance effluent quality, benefitting the 795 residents of the town.
