The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded the Town of Hillsville a $3,121,000 loan to improve the town's wastewater collection system. The construction of this project includes the rehabilitation of nearly 7,425 linear feet of vitrified clay piping. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
"The USDA's award of over $3 million for the restoration of the town's outdated pipes and service lines will be a tremendous benefit for the people of Hillsville."
This loan was awarded through one of the Department of Agriculture's rural development projects--The Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program.
