Vela Introduces Resolution Honoring NATO Defender 2021 Exercise

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Congressman Filemon Vela (D-TX), Deputy Head of the U.S. Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, introduced a resolution commending the outstanding efforts of the United States military and NATO partner nations who planned and executed exercise DEFENDER 2021 EUROPE.

The resolution comes on the heels of the NATO 2021 Brussels Summit, which was held on June 14 with Allied Heads of State and Government. The Summit provided the opportunity for NATO Leaders to make decisions on a wide range of topics to address present and future security challenges.

"The US Military and NATO Alliance is the bedrock of America's National Defense Strategy," said Congressman Filemon Vela. "Collective action through and with our NATO partners enable us to better respond to Russian and Chinese disinformation, economic coercion, and military aggression -- some of today's greatest security challenges. This resolution is a token of gratitude to the participants of DEFENDER 2021 EUROPE and the strength, resilience, and creativity that has made DEFENDER 2021 EUROPE a success."
