Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) voted to pass the National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex Act.

"Today's bipartisan vote makes it clear that we are committed to uncovering the truth and investigating the causes and dangerous ideology behind the deadly insurrection that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. This legislation creates a commission modeled after the 9-11 Commission and reflects a bipartisan agreement from Chairman Bennie Thompson and Ranking Member John Katko, the leaders of the House Committee on Homeland Security. We need to have absolute clarity about the facts, causes, and security failures that led to the tragic events on January 6th. This bipartisan commission will provide accountability and recommendations to help strengthen our democracy."
