Burgess introduces TIME Act

Statement

Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), released the following statement after he re-introduced the Technological Innovation through Modernizing Enforcement Act or the TIME Act.

"Technologies are moving fast and with that we must be willing to modernize how we enforce these advancements without hindering new developments," said Burgess. "This legislation will remove red tape that no longer serves a purpose. If passed, the Federal Trade Commission will have to conduct a periodic review on the consent decrees it enters into and remove those that no longer serve a purpose. We are emerging from this pandemic and we need to do everything we can not to stifle innovation and economic recovery."
