Location: Washington, DC

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for Rep. Rosa DeLauro's (CT-03) Paycheck Fairness Act (HR 7), which would strengthen the 1963 Equal Pay Act and close loopholes in the law to end the wage gap. DeLauro has introduced this legislation every Congress since 1997.

"It is long past time that we close the wage gap and guarantee equal pay for equal work. That's why I'm incredibly proud to support the Paycheck Fairness Act, led by Connecticut's own Rosa DeLauro," said Larson. "If women were paid the same as men, the poverty rate for working women would be cut in half. Women have been on the frontlines of this pandemic and many have been forced to leave the workforce. By enacting the Paycheck Fairness Act, we can ensure women are paid fairly and can come back to work."
