U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today released a statement following President Biden's selection of Celeste Drake, a longtime trade expert from AFL-CIO, to be the first "Made in America' Director. This initiative aims to steer more federal dollars to U.S. manufacturers and producers.

"The appointment of Celeste Drake as the first Made in America Director at the Office of Management and Budget is great news for American workers and American businesses," said Senator Brown. "In January, I wrote to President Biden urging him to appoint someone to oversee the government's Buy American efforts and I'm glad the President is following through on his promise to put American jobs first and support American-made projects. I look forward to working with Ms. Drake and I will continue to push to get my Build America, Buy America Act signed into law to ensure that American tax dollars go toward American-made projects that support American jobs."
