Congresswoman Kat Cammack (R-FL-03) Issues Statement On President Biden's Joint Address To Congress

This morning, Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) issued the following statement on President Biden's joint address to Congress last night.

"Last night, we listened to an hour of empty promises. We don't need failed solutions, aimless rhetoric, and unrealistic expectations that come at a major cost to the American people. We need leadership.

"President Biden failed to address the biggest challenges facing our country right now: a humanitarian, national security, and public health crisis at our southern border; a soaring deficit with new spending programs Democrats plan to force through Congress; the effects of the pandemic on children and families with schools still closed; costly energy policies that have eliminated millions of American jobs; and tax hikes to pay for his liberal wish list of programs. The list goes on and on.

"My generation grew up in the shadow of September 11th and came of age during the global financial crisis and now we face a global pandemic. Instead of making the government the center of our lives and the solution to all of our problems, let's remember the resilient American spirit. All we need from Washington is a government that respects individuals and our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness--not promises of a false future utopia divorced from reality.

"My Republican colleagues and I present an alternative to President Biden's 'I'm-from-the-government-and-I'm-here-to-help' plans. As we look forward to 2022, we are working hard to find common sense and common ground approaches to the important issues our nation faces."
