Congressman Donalds' Statement on H.R. 5

Statement

Today, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL), issued the following statement on H.R. 5.

"The federal government should never be in the business of politically manufacturing biological science. Political science will never replace actual science, and H.R. 5 attempts to do just that. Opposing discrimination and supporting longstanding laws such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is not controversial--but conflating civil rights with the teaching of liberal gender studies professors sets a dangerous precedent for the future. Democrats are hellbent on shoving woke policies that fly in the face of reality and chip away at religious liberty and parental and conscience rights. Washington politicians cannot legislate as if they are members of UC Berkley's student government and realize their outlandish proposals have real-life consequences on the American people."
