Congressman Donalds' Statement Recognizing Black History Month

Statement

Date: Feb. 1, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued the following statement in recognition of Black History Month.

"Black History Month is when our nation comes together to reflect on the Black community's immense contributions to our country's storied history. The promise of America is my life's story--born into inner-city Brooklyn, the son of a single mother, to being elected to the most powerful legislative body in the world. Today and every day, we pay homage to patriots like Sojourner Truth, Booker T. Washington, General Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., Katherine Johnson, Justice Clarence Thomas, and generations of American heroes who devoted their lives to form a more perfect union."
