Congressman Dan Bishop (NC-09) voted against a pair of mass amnesty bills, the "American Dream and Promise Act of 2021" and the "Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2021" which would both provide a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants.

"With the Biden border crisis currently ongoing, it is tone deaf to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants on a massive scale. These bills not only do nothing to even address the chaos at our border, but they incentivize what is happening at our border right now. Democrats are signaling a "free ticket' into America for any migrant that seeks to break our laws now and in the future. What is happening at our border is nothing short of an emergency, even though Congressional Democrats and the Biden Administration refuse to acknowledge it. But make no mistake, these amnesty bills will only make it worse," Rep. Dan Bishop said.

H.R. 6: The "American Dream and Promise Act of 2021" will all but ensure that lawless behavior at our border will continue to be rewarded. This bill goes well beyond the scope of the 640,000 or so DACA recipients, extending amnesty to some 3 million more illegal immigrants. It also provides about 400,000 more who have active Temporary Protected Status with a pathway to citizenship as well.

H.R. 1603: The "Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2021" allows for a pathway to citizenship to over a million illegal immigrants who work in the agricultural industry. This mass amnesty also extends to their spouses and children, crowding the labor market at the expense of American workers.
