Sessions' Impressions at Southern Border

Press Release

Date: March 30, 2021

Congressman Sessions and other House Members of the Texas Congressional Delegation were boots on the ground at our southern border to personally assess President Biden's border crisis. The team received multiple briefings from local law enforcement, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Texas National Guard. They evaluated points of entry into the United States through several means like a helicopter flyover and boat tour at night. The group held a press conference in Mission, Texas to discuss their first-hand experience. Today, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) released the following statement regarding his trip to the southern border:

"Over 150,000 illegal migrants are being dispersed to cities across the United States with up to a 10% infection rate. The federal government will not pay the penalty--the American people will. Americans are experiencing the consequences of ineffective leadership. The situation at hand is a ticking time bomb and a human disaster.

"I am committed to working toward solutions that will secure our border and put the American people first. This will not be a one-time visit; we are here for the long-run."
