Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10), an original co-sponsor of the legislation, voted to pass H.R.6, the Dream and Promise Act, which will give the thousands of Dreamers in the Central Valley a path to lawful permanent residence and American citizenship. The bill also includes protections and a path to citizenship for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) beneficiaries. Not only will this bill keep families and communities together, but it will also preserve the economic output our Dreamers, TPS, and DED beneficiaries generate for the Valley.

"Dreamers are our students and teachers, faith leaders and coworkers. They've only ever known our community as their home, and it's time they get the protections they deserve," said Rep. Harder. "I made a promise to fight for our Dreamers when I first ran for office, and passing this bill is a huge stepping stone in their path to equality. It's time to bring our neighbors and family members out of the shadows and recognize them as the Americans they truly are."
