Inhofe to Oppose Kahl Nomination in Committee Vote

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement on the nomination of Dr. Colin Kahl to serve as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy:

"I appreciate Dr. Kahl's commitment to public service, but I cannot support his nomination to serve as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy," Inhofe said. "This is the number-three position at the Pentagon -- and the policy role is currently even more important because the United States is facing more threats than ever before. This position demands bipartisanship, even temperament and good policy judgment -- characteristics I don't believe Dr. Kahl has demonstrated. President Biden made excellent selections with Secretary Austin and Deputy Secretary Hicks, and I urge him to send us nominees who can garner the same bipartisan support as they did."
