Washington, DC -- Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13), Chairman of the House Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement after reviewing General Honoré's report on the security of the Capitol. Ryan also received a members-only briefing from General Honoré.

"As Chairman of the House Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee, it's my number one priority and responsibility to ensure that we have the resources needed to keep members, staff, contractors, and visitors safe. While I continue to believe that we can't fight yesterday's wars, we must learn from the tragedy that occurred here on January 6th and make the changes needed to ensure that it can never happen again. This report will serve as a roadmap as we shore up the security of the Capitol for generations to come. I would like to thank General Honoré for his fastidious and thorough work. Now it's time we turn to the hard work of implementation so we can make the changes needed to keep us safe and to reopen the People's House to the people."
