Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema questioned Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell in a Senate Banking Committee hearing about how the Federal Reserve will work with Congress to ensure a strong economic recovery for Arizona.

"Right now, Arizonans are concerned about getting the coronavirus under control and getting our economy back on track…Yet, Arizonans expect me - and all of us - to think about the future, not just the present crisis. We want a strong economic recovery. That means ensuring the Fed's work complements our legislative efforts," said Sinema.

In the hearing, Sinema questioned Chairman Powell on the Federal Reserve's thinking on interest rates, unemployment rates, and potential price inflation in sectors like hospitality, tourism, and restaurants.

Sinema continues working to get the coronavirus under control through her efforts securing additional vaccines for Arizona. Recently, Sinema requested additional vaccine doses from the federal government for Arizona. Senator Sinema is helping vaccination sites find more volunteers and volunteering at sites herself. She continues to communicate Arizona's needs to federal partners, Pfizer, Moderna, and the new administration.
