Today, Congressman Filemon Vela (D-TX) announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families has awarded a $23,684,623 grant to Neighbors in Need of Service (NINOS) Inc..

Federal funding awarded will support NINOS, Inc. Head Start Programs throughout Cameron County. NINOS, Inc. Head Start has provided services including educational, nutritional, dental health, transitional and special services to South Texas families for over 30 years. They have taken the necessary precautions in order to continue to operate throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Head Start programs are essential to families in our communities and throughout the country," said Congressman Vela. "NINOS, Inc. continues to do amazing work for our children as well as providing support to parents and guardians along the way. I look forward to seeing how these funds will help serve more families in our community."
